Jill Crossland (piano)

Jill pursues an active performing and recording career, giving over fifty concerts a year. Jill has performed extensively in  the UK and abroad including in the Vienna Musikverein and Wigmore Hall. Jill has recordings with Warner and Signum Classics and other labels, including the complete Bach well-tempered Clavier on Signum, described by the Penguin Guide as 'a remarkable achievement, ranking  with the finest' Jill's new Chopin recording, released at Easter, has received over 400,000 streams.

Samantha Atkinson (saxophone)

Samantha Atkinson is a musical performer and educator, who has just graduated from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire on the classical saxophone, she also plays clarinet, sings and composes. At RBC she has won the Saxophone prize 2024, and in 2023 with the Azå Saxophone Quartet won the Sylvia Cleaver chamber prize and the Andrew Downes prize. She has a passion for folk & classical music, winning the Young Creative Awards in Nottingham for her Celtic inspired composition “Ocean of Gold” for soprano saxophone & Hang drum in 2021.

This Lunchtime concert will be a collection of Samantha’s folk & classical favourites that are lively, impactful & showcase the range & passion a saxophone can create.

'A Dementia Friendly' concert 

present by members of The Midlands Sinfonia (string duo)

The Midland Sinfonia is a professional chamber orchestra based in Alvechurch, Worcestershire.  They present a series of concerts including themed programmes showcasing traditional repertoire alongside popular classics and Family Concerts (concerts specifically designed to be suitable for young and old alike). 

In addition to their concerts they also have an exciting Education & Outreach programme which includes a Young Musicians' Showcase, school workshops, open rehearsal opportunities and visits to community settings such as Dementia Cafes, nursing homes and support groups.

The Midland Sinfonia presents a fun-filled, magical Christmas Family Concert.

Programme to include the famous story of 'The Nutcracker' set to music by Tchaikovsky and with ballerinas joining us!
